The fifth record by Aldous Harding leans heavy into the eerie and strange. The whole album feels like a dream as songs ebb in and out with very unique instrumentations. With lyrics that are at times cryptic or brutally honest, the album left a meditative and lingering impression. Easily one of the most exciting new albums I’ve heard all year.
Had to wait very patiently to get my hands on By Storm‘s vinyl as the initial pressing of 1000 sold out very quick. I’ve been anticipating this album for quite some time after Stepa J. Grogg’s death and how it would be reflected into the music. They have taken their experimentation into more reflective territory with incredible production. It is dense and unexpectedly cathartic.
Underscores‘ third album U has everything. Hyper glitch pop, dubstep drops, future bass hooks, and jazz-tinged melodies. No skips and then it ends. Wish it was longer.
